A quote from the book A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles, which I listened while driving from New York to Maine and back, epitomizes the spirit of going beyond a comfort zone, or giving it a go. The novel is full of wonderful moments—and these quotes are just two:
"She must come to the defense of her own talents."
"What matters in life is not whether we receive a round of applause; what matters is whether we have the courage to venture forth despite the uncertainty of acclaim."
(Both quotes refer to the character of Sophia, about whom I won't write lest I give anything away).
I highly recommend the book.
