Pantone...Visa?

Love the idea of the Pantone Visa cards, although I think I'd pick a different swatch...you?

According to their website, the colored cards can reflect your personality.

Regatta is trustworthy, noble, and generous.
Firecracker is cheerful, dynamic, and tuned in.
Beeswax is warm, sincere, and generous.
Blue Curacao is sensuous, tender, and inviting.
Lavender is insightful, intuitive, and spiritual.
Really, all that from a credit card!?

[Why not go for the American Express Black card which just says rich?]

Funnel Ball

The playground near our house has a Funnel Ball setup...I've never played, have you? You throw the ball up in the cup and it will spin around and come out randomly through one of the 4 exits. The holes score points (2, 4, 6, and 8 points).

In any case, it's got some beautiful lettering on it, and has a beautiful shape.

Metallic food

Loving this edible metallic food spray. I am imagining spraying my entire breakfast, or a whole salad! Article here.

Ab Ex Stamps

Today (March 11, 2010), the Postal Service will issue a 44–cent, Abstract Expressionists commemorative stamps.

In celebration of the abstract expressionist artists of the 20th Century, Art Director Ethel Kessler and noted Art Historian Jonathan Fineberg (Gutgsell Professor Art History, University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign) selected ten paintings. Kessler used elements from Barnett Newman’s Achilles (1952) to frame the stamps.

Tote that...tote?

Strangely enough, today I received 2 emails for 2 different contests for designing tote bags. One is for Print Magazine (submissions due March 15, with all proceeds going to the designer's selected charity.

The other is for the beloved Strand (18 miles of books) Bookstore. This one is more of a contest, with a first, second, and third place winner. (What do you win? Books!). Submissions started March 1.

I'm sensing that this tote bag stuff is a trend, like your balloon spotting!

Spraypaint

A lovely bit of packaging for this Australian spray paint. Judging from the website, it seems that it might be targeted to taggers and graffiti artists.

Dockers ads

I had an old rock-n-roll boyfriend who used to say that "Dockers don't rock, and rockers don't Dock." But Dockers seem to be straining to achieve the cool factor with their new ads.

Swedish butt

I only spotted one IKEA employee wearing these IKEA branded pants! I wonder if they have any special features, or if you need a hex wrench to button them!

2-Way Clothespins

Not sure why these never caught on! I'll have to test them on the clothesline in the Spring and report back.
