4 Noah D

I shot this in London for design & tech guru Noah Dziobecki of DzignSpace, who sent a link to a piece about the ampersand. I can't find the link (Doh!) so, here's a Hoefler & Frere-Jones piece about their middle name. By the way, did you know that the character ampersand is not allowed in a post label?!

Well, now I feel as though I've hit the Big Time. I think I'm going to go listen to some Peter Gabriel now for suggestions on what I should do next.

Wouldn't you know it? That H&F-J piece happens to be the very link I sent.

And (&) if you're interested, a few non-typographic uses of the ampersand:
- To separate variable-value pairs, as in a URL query string (e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVPfTlpCKaw&feature=related )
- The bitwise AND operator. Basically, some sort of binary integer comparison with Boolean logic that I've neither had occasion to use or learn.
- && (double ampersand) is the logical AND operator...which in English means it is used to test for more than one condition before performing a given action, such as checking both a user name and password (e.g. username == true && password == true). (Double-equal-sign being the test equality operator.)

Wow! and it's stuff like the cool info above that makes it really clear why Noah's a guru in many ways!
