57. Coming to the defense of one's talent

For certain shy people like me, it's easy to write off hours of  "help" that seem like nothing to a colleague/sort of client but really take a lot of time in figuring out, doing, refining, producing, and at some final point, seeing that the "help" works. It's particularly difficult if the colleague is a decent person who has made life easier. But, in the spirit of "coming to the defense of my own talents" (see day 50, with quotes from A Gentleman in Moscow) I sent an invoice. I billed something, even though it involved NOT billing for the 10 hours of time spent by an intern or by self figuring out what to do.
