Happy Old Year

Fascinating on many levels, the Whitney's 2012 Yayoi Kusama exhibit revealed Kusama's moxie, pioneering in Happenings, friendship with the reclusive-but-prone-to-crushes-on-unusual-women Joseph Cornell, and her disciplined obsessions. When I first noticed the nod to Kusama in the window of the Soho Louis Vuitton, I thought the store was being trendy, but upon a bit of research learned that Louis Vuitton was a supporter of the Whitney show. It was great that former BTD intern Stacy Jia Cheng urged that we see the exhibit. Alas, neither of us experienced Fireflies on the Water.
